In Gestalt psychotherapy, anxiety is not viewed as a "problem," but as a message.
It is often the result of unexpressed feelings and avoiding contact with the present moment.
When we try to control what is uncertain or suppress what we feel, the body reacts with tightening, tension, and alarm.

Anxiety often appears when we:

  • carry responsibility that exceeds our capacity,
  • suppress anger, sadness, or fear,
  • try to be perfect in order to be accepted.

In psychotherapy, we explore:

  • What are you avoiding feeling authentically?
  • Who are you adapting to, and forgetting about yourself?

It helps you learn how to stay with yourself in uncertainty, without needing to use worry as protection.

Psychotherapy does not remove life's challenges, but it provides you with the internal support not to experience them as a threat. When you learn how to be with yourself, anxiety loses its power.
